Play Call - Ripple
Figure 2
Figure 2

As Player 1 brings the ball down and crosses half court the play begins.

The two wing players set picks on the low post players and role open to the ball.

Seal your man & post up strong. Stay low and get wide. Want the Ball.
Figure 3
Figure 3

Player 1 does not pick a side but sets his man up. Using a cross-over dribble. He then can make an easy pass to either wing player. Stay high on the floor away from the 3 point line. Keep the floor as big as you can. Stay out of the traffic. I tell my younger players make that pass on a 10 foot rope. (Be within 10 feet)
Figure 4
Figure 4

Player 1 has to anticipate which wing player will be open at the wing. See the floor.

Player 1 DO NOT THROW A PASS FROM THE POINT TO THE WING!

Important: Throw a good bounce pass to the outside leg of wing player away from the defender as soon as he's open. Do not make the wing player wait for the ball. Do not throw a chest pass. Wing player receive the ball and turn and face the basket.
Figure 5
Figure 5

Keeping the defense honest is a big part of the Kansas Offense. Soon as the defense starts cheating, thinking they know player 1 is going to set the screen for the wing. We put a little Ripple into the movement.
Figure 6
Figure 6

Player 1 makes it look just like Motion until Player 1 gets to middle of the foul line.

Player 4 clears to the corner setting his man up to go backdoor.

Player 5 sets a screen for the wing Player 2.
